Colin Slack: Campground Manager

Colin Slack was chosen to join the Blind Squirrel family after expressing interest in “getting away from it all.” Born in High Point, NC, Colin began his adventuresome life as a BMX rider throughout his childhood. After High School, Colin attending NC State where he studied Botany and began to develop his love for the natural world. Appalachian State University allowed him to further his interest in the outdoor lifestyle. While finishing his Outdoor Recreations degree, Colin took advantage of the area’s prominent kayaking and rock climbing community, advancing his knowledge and abilities. After college, Colin moved to Portland, Oregon, which was a great scene for his lifestyle. Craft beer, live music, food culture, and mountain biking dominated his life on the West Coast. That freedom allowed Colin to make the trip of a lifetime, riding his bicycle from Portland to Alaska to chase his passion of fishing. Once relocated to Asheville, Colin began to work as an arborist. When Colin is not maintaining the Farm Retreat and Campground property, he can be found on the North Toe or surrounding rivers fly fishing and enjoying a cold Blind Squirrel brew! Cheers! Colin
